The Heart and Stroke foundation and the Canadian Stroke Network gratefully acknowledges the Canadian Stroke Best Practice Recommendations advisory committee, writing group leaders and members and the external reviewers, all of who volunteered their time and expertise to the ongoing development and updates of these stroke guidelines. We thank the Canadian Stroke Quality and Performance Advisory Committee for its work in exploring and updating the performance measures that accompany each recommendation. We thank our colleagues at Heart and Stroke Foundation, including in the communications, French translation, health information, survivorship and publications departments for their contributions to dissemination of these guidelines.?


The development of the Canadian stroke best practice guidelines and all supporting resources and materials is funded in its entirety by the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Stroke Network. Funds from the Canadian Stroke Network were received through the Canadian Networks of Centres of Excellence program. No funds for the development of these guidelines come from commercial interests, including pharmaceutical companies. All members of the recommendation writing groups and external reviewers are volunteers and do not receive any remuneration for participation in guideline and implementation resource development, updates and reviews. All writing group participants and external reviewers are required to report all potential or actual financial conflicts of interest, which are then publicly disclosed.?
